Performance Pistol

Have you been able to dig into the full potential of your red dot mounted on your pistol? Performance Pistol is a fast paced high round count class designed to show students the advantages of the Red Dot.

Performance Pistol

From your instructor...

From the Instructor,

Welcome to the Performance Pistol class for Paladin Tower Tactics. Thank you for trusting me to further your training.

This class is designed to familiarize you with a holographic sight (red dot) on a pistol. You will see distinct advantages that the red dot offers over normal iron sights. This class is a skills heavy training course that will not only give you familiarity with the red dot, but an increase in your overall speed and accuracy with a handgun when the training principles are applied properly.

This course is structured around the use of a duty or competition style holster. Law Enforcement officers, military personnel, and competition shooters have seen the value of holographic sights on pistols. By the end of this course, I believe you will as well. You may also want to shoot the course from concealment, but you will find most of the instruction is geared toward duty holsters.

I want to give you the skills to be a more efficient protector of life and the lives of the innocent. This is why we train. This is why we carry guns. If we choose to ignore the evil in the world, or fail to prepare to face it, then we ourselves are complicit in evil action. Ultimately, Jesus- the God of the universe, will come to mankind a second time and destroy evil and those who carry it out. I hope that you internalize the reality that one day the True King will return. My hope for you as my student is that you are ready for His return by being reconciled to Him through repentance and faith in what He did on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago.

Respectfully,

Scott Willey

Must WATCH Video Prior to Training

Here is a YouTube video that is mandatory to watch prior to training. I highly recommend reading Jeff Cooper’s “Principles of Personal Defense,” prior to class (included for your convenience in the same email you receive this packet in).

Watch this video before you come train, (I recommend watching it multiple times)

IMPORTANT INFORMATION PRIOR TO TRAINING

Overview of the Performance Rifle Course:

Class overview:

Performance Pistol is an intensive 8-hour course that will cover the following topics: the basics of dots, efficient economy of motion, visual acuity, trigger control optimization, and cognitive processing. We will have a 1-hour break for lunch in the middle of class, please plan accordingly.

Students who attend are expected to be experts in firearms safety who practice the skills they have learned regularly on their own time.

Tuition:

This class is 8 hours long. Payment is due prior to class using Stripe. You will not receive the location of the class or details for it without paying first. Tuition is non refundable. If you cannot make it to class you are encouraged to sell your slot to someone else. Please let us know if you do this, so that we can have the necessary paperwork ready for the change.

Gear that you will need to participate in class:

Please be sure to mount and  zero your optic on your handgun to the best of your ability prior to your training course.

1. You will need 800 rounds of practice ammo for each shooter that will be participating.

2. A handgun with a red dot mounted to it– this does not include pocket pistols. Some .380 pistols are not adequate or reliable enough to meet these criteria, and .22 caliber handguns are not allowed for training. The last page of this packet will require you to declare which handgun you will train with.

3. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO HAVE 60 ROUNDS WITH YOU WHILE ON THE FIRING LINE FOR EACH DRILL. EXAMPLE: IF YOUR MAGAZINES ONLY HOLD 10 ROUNDS EACH YOU WILL NEED 6 MAGAZINES FOR EACH DRILL. THIS WILL DRAMATICALLY CUT DOWN ON TIME SPENT STUFFING MAGAZINES INSTEAD OF SHOOTING THE DRILL TO COMPLETION.

4. A belt that supports the weight of your firearm while on your person. Most students shoot this course with a battle belt and duty style holster.

5. A holster that you can wear on your belt on your dominant hand side – all trigger finger

released holsters are prohibited on all my courses. If you come with one, you will not be allowed to train until it is replaced. An Example of this is a Blackhawk Serpa holster.

6. Magazine holder or holders that you can wear on your belt. I typically use one or two and the rest of my mags stay in a pocket or dump pouch after I use the ones in the mag carrier.

7. Hearing protection

8. Eye protection – both clear and shaded

9. Appropriate clothing – no flip flops or tank tops. I recommend pants, t-shirt, and some type of boot or shoe. I also highly encourage you to come to class wearing the attire you plan to carry in on a daily basis if possible. Obviously, you don’t want to get a suit or nice blouse dirty, but training how you would actually fight is the spirit of this point.  Remember rain gear, bug spray, or sunscreen – whatever the weather or season requires.

10. Bring a notebook and pen (preferably one that fits in a pocket).

11. Please bring plenty of water for yourself.

12. Bug spray and sunscreen.

The day of class:

The range location and directions will be included in the email that you receive when you confirm attendance.

Please be on time and prepared for class. This means that you have already taken the time to try on your gear and made sure it fits and is adjusted to your needs. This also means that your handgun is loaded with a round in the chamber and in your holster on your body at the start of class. You will be given time to unload your defensive carry ammo and load your practice ammo. Have any spare magazines or speed loaders loaded prior to class.

Prior to unloading your range gear, we will meet briefly to collect your release of liability form. We will then go over firearms safety and range rules. Class will last eight hours or until all curriculum is completed.

RELEASE FORM

You will need to read, print, and sign the release of liability form in the PDF link above and bring it to class. The other form on the second to last page is an application for training please fill out and email this application to paladintowertactics@gmail.com prior to class.

...And on that day, only you will know your true commitment to training.
